It is said that the great sculptor, Michaelangelo believed that his blocks of marble possessed the great art before he touched them, that his role was simply to reveal their true nature.  Modesty perhaps, but also a great insight.  He made the most of what he had to work with, letting the character of the stone combine with his vision.

The situation in the world today is like that block of marble.  The great mass of society holds within it the masterpiece of civilization, the culture that walks lightly upon the Earth while filling the Solar System with life, so fully comprehending and productive that it restores nature and creates its own resources. This is our mission.
